The YMCA Jinja Library is a vibrant resource center dedicated to fostering a love for reading, learning, and knowledge acquisition. At YMCA Jinja Library, we offer several services to enhance your learning experience:

Eligible Users

The YMCA Jinja Library is open to the following individuals:

  • Registered Staff and Students: All current staff members and students of YMCA Jinja Campus can access the library’s resources freely.
  • Former NVI Staff and Alumni: Former staff and alumni may use the library for reading purposes upon payment of a minimum fee.

Please note that all individuals entering the library will be required to identify themselves upon entry. Additionally, all users are expected to adhere to the Institute’s Code of Conduct and Dress Code to maintain a respectful and conducive learning environment.

Regulations Regarding Borrowing

To borrow materials from the YMCA Jinja Library, users must adhere to the following regulations:

  • Users must register with the Institute and Library before borrowing.
  • Students may borrow during active Terms/Semesters only.
  • Students can borrow up to 2 volumes for 2 days from the General Collection.
  • Students may borrow 1 volume from the Reserved Collection, checked out from 2:00 PM and returned by 10:00 AM the next day.
  • Teaching staff may borrow up to 4 volumes for two weeks from the Open shelves.
  • Teaching staff may borrow 2 volumes for 5 days from the Reserve.
  • Non-teaching staff may borrow 1 volume for one week.
  • Due dates will be provided at borrowing, with late returns incurring fines.
  • No additional borrowing for those with outstanding books or fines.
  • The Library may recall high-demand books before their due date.
  • Borrowers are responsible for replacing lost or damaged books.
  • Library cards are non-transferable and must be returned before graduation.
  • Lost library cards must be reported immediately.

  1. Monday – Friday 8.00AM – 09:00PM. (closed during Public Holidays)
  2. Saturday 9:00AM – 0I:00PM
